Mother
For
as long as I can remember...
You were always by my side,
To give me support, confidence and help.
For as long as I can remember...
You were always the person I looked up to,
So strong, so sensitive, so pretty.
For as long as I can remember...
You always provided stability within our family
Full of laughter, full of tears, full of love.
For as long as I can remember...
And still today,
You are everything a mother should be.
Whatever I have become is because of you...
...and I thank you forever for our relationship.
Morning
Prayer
When little things irk me, and I grow,
Impatient with my dear ones, make me know,
How in a moment joy can take it's flight
And happiness be quenched in endless night.
Keep this thought with me all the livelong day,
That I may guard the harsh words I might say,
When I would fret and grumble, fiery hot,
At trifles that tomorrow are forgot---
Let me remember, Lord, how it would be,
If these, my loved ones, were not hear with me.
My
Angel
Angels
come from up above,
to show you God's eternal love.
They keep you safe from harm,
they surround you with their loving arms.
Just listen with an open ear,
and they will calm your every fear.
Have you ever thought you heard,
an angel's soft and gentle word?
Angels come from up above,
to show God's eternal love.
My
Church (#1)
My
church has but one temple,
Wide as the world is wide,
Set with a million stars,
My church has no creed to bar
A single brother man
But says, "Come thou and worship"
To everyone who can.
My church has no roof or walls,
Nor floors save the beautiful sod--
For fear, I would seem to limit
The love of the illimitable God.
My Grandpa
My
Grandpa's very special.
He's loved a whole lot too...
Because my Grandpa's wonderful
Because my Grandpa's you.
My Church (#2)
On
me, nor Priest, nor Presbyter, nor Pope,
Bishop, nor Dean, may stamp a party name.
But Jesus, with his largely human scope,
The service of my human life may claim.
Let prideful Priests do battle about creeds.
The church is mine that does most
Christ-like deeds.

Music
How
many of us ever stop and think
Of music as wonderous magic link
With God; taking sometimes the place of prayer,
When words have failed us 'neath the weight of care?
Music that knows no country, race or creed;
But God gives to each according to his need.
My
Child Did Exist
I've
lost a child, I hear myself say,
And the person I'm talking to just turns away.
Now why did I tell them, I don't understand.
It wasn't for sympathy or to get a helping hand.
I just want them to know I've lost something dear.
I want them to know that my child was here
My child left something behind which no one can see.
My made just one person a family.
So if I've upset you, I'm sorry as can be.
You'll have to forgive me, I could not resist.
I just want you to know that my child did exist.
My
Dad
My
Dad is very special.
He's loved a whole lot too...
Because my Dad is wonderful
Because my Dad is you.
My
Cousin
My
cousin's very special.
He's loved a whole lot too...
Because my cousin's wonderful
Because my cousin's you.
My Dear Mother
To
one Who bears
the sweetest name,
and adds luster
to the same,
long life to her,
for there's no other,
who takes the place
of my dear mother.
Daily
Creed
Let
me be a little kinder,
Let me be a little blinder
To the faults of those about me;
Let me praise a little more;
Let me be, when I am weary,
Just a little bit more cheery;
Let me serve a little better
Those that I am striving for.
Let me be a little braver
When temptation bids me waver;
Let me strive a little harder
To be all that I should be;
Let me be a little meeker
With the brother that is weaker;
Let me think more of my neighbor
And a little less of me.

My
Friend
He
stood at the crossroads all alone,
With the sunrise in his face;
He had no fear for the path unknown;
He was set for a manly race.
But the road stretched east, and the road stretched west;
There was no one to tell which way was best;
So my friend turned wrong and went down, down, down,
'Til he lost the race and the victor's crown
And fell at last in an ugly snare,
Because no one stood at the crossroads there.
Another friend on another day
At the selfsame crossroads stood;
He paused a moment to choose the way
That would stretch to a greater good.
And the road stretched east and the road stretched west;
Bu I was there to show him the best;
So my friend turned right and went on and on,
'Til he won the race and the victor's crown;
He came at last to the mansions fair,
Because I stood at the crossroads there.
Since then I have raised a daily prayer
That I be kept faithful standing there.
To warn the runners as they come,
And save my own or anther's chum.
My
Friend
We
have come such a long way in the time that
We've known each other.
We've given each other encouragement and have
accomplished things that we never thought we
could do.
I have become a better person since knowing you.
You have given me many things which I will
treasure for a lifetime....
and most important thing of all...
...is the gift of our friendship.
My Grandson
My
grandson is like a special book
For a person of some age
Like reading a beautiful story
Each time we turn the page
There's a mystery and excitement
As the story begins to unfold
Sometimes laughter, sometimes tears
Then joy as the story is told
You bring back special memories...
Times I lovingly recall
All the happy times we had
When your mother was very small
But above all this, there is peace
And a deep commitment within
Knowing that a part of me
will go on without an end
I just want to let you know
How much you mean to me
I know that I am truly blessed
With a very special family
For My Favorite Aunt
(Aunt's Name if desired)
Only an
Aunt
can give hugs
like a mother,
can keep secrets
like a sister,
and share love
like a friend.
You are truly treasured!
Merry Christmas From Heaven
(Can Be Personalized, if desired)
"I
still hear the songs, I still see the lights, I still feel
your love, On cold wintry nights.
To my family and friends, Please be thankful today,
I'm still close beside you, In a new special way.
I love you all dearly, Now don't shed a tear,
Cause I'm spending my, Christmas with Jesus this year
Let
Me Not Shut Myself Within Myself
Let me not shut myself within myself
nor dedicate myself to petty things,
Let there be many windows in my life,
The entrance to my heart a door that swings.
Save me from self-preferment that would gain
It's cloistered place, safe sheltered from the strife.
But purposeful and calm and sweet and sane,
Lord, keep me in the living room of life.
May God Bless You
May
God bless you with discomfort at easy answers, half truths, superficial
relationships, so that you will live deep within your heart.
May God bless you with anger at injustice, oppression and exploitation
of people so that you will work for justice, equality and peace.
May God bless you with tears to shed for those who suffer from pain,
rejection, starvation and war, so that you will reach out your hand to
comfort them and change their pain into joy.
And may God bless you with the foolishness to think that you can make a
difference in the world, so that you will do the things which others
tell you cannot be done.
Letting Go
To
let go doesn't mean to stop caring;
It means I can't do it for someone else.
To let go is not to cut myself off...
It's the realization that I can't control another...
To let go is not to enable,
but to allow learning from natural consequences.
To let go is to admit powerlessness,
which means the outcome is not in my hands.
To let go is not to try and change or blame another,
I can only change myself.
To let go is not to care for, but to care about.
To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.
To let go is not to judge,
but to allow another to be a human being.
To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes,
but to allow others to affect their own outcomes.
To let go is not to be protective,
It is to permit another to face reality.
To let go is not to deny, but to accept.
To let go is not to nag, scold, or argue,
but to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.
To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes and cherish the moment.
To let go is not to criticize and regulate anyone,
but to try to become what I dream I can be.
To let go is not to regret the past,
but to grow and live for the future.
To let go is to fear less and love more.
Life On The
Line
Now,
I am told I was bred for "show"
Do I deserve to be dropped this low?
In the canine world I am the King,
I do not care for the dog show ring.
It bores me til the day I die
Why can I no longer do my part
And serve mankind with all my heart?
My heritage demands of me
to be what I was born to be,
Return my birth right that once was mine
A Chance To Lay My
Life On The Line!

My
Family
My
Family is like a book.
The children are the pages
The parents are the cover
That protecting beauty gives.
At first the pages of the book
Are blank and purely fair,
But time soon writeth memories
And painteth pictures there.
Love is the little golden clasp
That bindeth up the trust;
Oh, break it not, lest all the pages
Should shatter and be lost!
Little Eyes Upon You
There
are little eyes upon you
and they're watching night and day.
There are little ears that quickly
take in every word you say.
There are little hands all eager
to do anything you do;
And a little boy who's dreaming
of the day he'll be like you.
You're the little fellow's idol,
you're the wisest of the wise.
In his little mind about you
no suspicions ever rise.
He believes in you devoutly,
holds all that you say and do;
He will say and do, in your way,
when he's grown up like you.
My Granddaughter
My
granddaughter is like a special book
For a person of some age
Like reading a beautiful story
Each time we turn the page

Life's
Storms
When the heart is troubled and the
day
seems long,
And the mighty tempests roll,
The clouds are thick and foreboding,
There is sadness in your soul.
When things go wrong and you're weary,
And your heart cries out in pain,
What should I do? Which way do I go?
Crying out again and again.
Suddenly a soft voice whispers,
"Take time my child to pray,
While the storms of life are raging,
I will wipe your fears away.
Life #2
I've been
through the valley of the shadow of death.
I've felt death's icy stare.
I've known torment that tortures the soul..
But the Savior met me there.
To comfort and sooth with His still voice.
The tempest I couldn't bear.
In His own good time He brought me through.
For His love was always there.
We struggle and strive and toss and groan.
The time seems endless and vain.
When we stood the test and weathered the storm.
He takes away the pain.
For He never leaves us completely alone.
His eyes NEVER leave His own.
Love
There are
little traits that keep me bound...
I think of nothing else save the bright face of my lady-
Ah me! Her swan-white throat, her strong chin,
Her fresh laughing mouth which daily seems to say,
"Come kiss me, love, kiss me once again!
Her regal nose, her smiling grey eyes-
(That thieve to steal a lovers heart)-
And her brown tresses that wildly fly.
Each have wounded me as with a dart
So amorous are these that I deem they will slay me.
Ah God, ah God! Alas, who will save me?
Loving
We
may give without loving,
but we cannot love without giving....
Life Of A Police Dog
We're both
partners and buddies in blue.
We did school demos and never did wrong,
Over the years, my love did grow strong.
How I loved to work, stand up and bark,
In the back of our car, from light until dark.
We went call to call, having fun all the way,
Until the call came on that one fateful day.
A man with a gun, the dispatcher did say,
I jumped from my car when it pointed your way.
Before leaving home, I was told by your wife,
I knew at that moment, I'd give you my life.
The bullet struck hard, steady and true,
The bullet struck me, it did not strike you.
When you go home, tell your wife I did good,
Strong, tall and proud on the ground that I stood.
I'm dead and gone now, this much is so true,
But I've done my job well in protecting you.
My Favorites
My
favorite light is the sun,
My shade is yonder tree.
My favorite highway is the path
That's tried by you and me.
My favorite song is feathered friend,
Chirp--chipping in the dell.
The wind is music to my ears
The rose, my favorite smell.
I'll waken to the old cock's crow.
My lullaby, the locust.
How sweet the sound when raindrops fall--
A rainbow then to focus.
My favorite day is now--today,
Which I can give to God.
Who made the earth and all therein,
For my approving nod.
At least, I like to think He loves me so.
Of course, I know it was for all.
We look, and God we know.
