Graduation
Wish
As the
tassel is turned
A new path you'll make
May God always guide
Each step you take.
Congratulations!
Keep Going
There's
no skill no skill in easy sailing
When the skies are clear and blue.
There's no joy in merely doing
Things that anyone can do.
But there is great satisfaction,
That is mighty sweet to take
When you reach a destination
That you said you couldn't make.
Isn't It
True?
Isn't
it true that a lot of us blame the road,
When it's really just a pebble in our shoe?
Graduation
A
celebration...
A time for looking back on lessons learned,
adventures share, bright moments filled
with special meaning.
A farewell....
A time for saying goodbye to old friends,
to good times you've known...a time for
packing away memories, treasures for tomorrow
A beginning...
A time for looking forward, a time to set goals,
to dream new dreams, to try your wings and see
what lies beyond.
Grief
There is a grief that ages the face
and hardens the heart
Yet softens the spirit....
A grief casts shadows on the eyes
Yet broadens the mind....
A grief that keeps the pain and has no words
But increases the understanding....
There is a grief that breaks the heart and wounds the soul,
That lasts and lasts and can shatter in a minute,
But will inspire for a lifetime.
Happiness
Is....
Happiness
is like a perfume
you cannot pour it on others
without getting a few drops on yourself...
"He"
He knows,
He loves,
He cares;
Nothing this truth can dim.
He gives the very best to those,
Who leave the choice to Him.
Help Me
Help me the
slow of heart to move
By some clear, winning word of love;
Teach me the wayward feet to stay
And guide them in the homeward way.
Hope (#1)
Keep a
brave spirit, never despair;
Hope brings you a message through the keen air---
Good is victorious---God everywhere.
Grand are the battles which you have to fight,
Be not
downhearted, but valiant for right;
Hope and press forward, your face to the light.
Hope (#2)
"Tis
better to hope, though the clouds hang low,
And keep the eyelids uplifted,
For the sweet blue sky will soon peep through,
When the ominous clouds are lifted.
There was never a night without a day,
Or an evening without a morning,
And the darkest hour, as the proverb goes,
Is the hour before the dawning.
Hope (3)
Hope is
like the sun, which,
As we journey toward it,
casts the shadow of our burden
behind us....
High
Resolve
I'll hold
my candle high and then,
Perhaps I'll see the hearts of men
Above the sordidness of life,
Beyond misunderstandings and strife,
Though many deeds that others do
Seem foolish, rash, and sinful too,
Just who am I to criticize
What I perceive with my dull eyes?
I'll hold my candle high, and then,
Perhaps I'll see the hearts of men.
Homeward
Way
Help me the
slow of heart to move,
By some clear, winning word of love;
Teach me the wayward feet to stay,
And guide them in the homeward way.
High Flight
Oh, I have
slipped the surely bounds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds-and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of-wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hoove'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark or even eagle flew
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high unsurpassed sanctity of space.
How Long
Shall I Give?
" Go break to the needy sweet charity's bread;
So giving is living," the angel said.
"And must I be giving again and again?"
My peevish and pitiless answer ran.
"Oh, no," said the angel, piercing me through,
"Just give till the Master stops giving to you!"
If Roses
Grow In Heaven
If roses grow in
Heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my mother's arms
and tell her they're from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for awhile.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
but there's an ache within my heart
that will never go away.
I Resolve
To strip
the soul of all pretense,
To hold each day in reverence,
To keep the head and heart apace,
To make the world a worth-while place,
To share my bread with those in need,
To tolerate a neighbor's creed,
To keep s stride without strut,
To make a home in manse or hut,
To have the grit to grin at loss,
To master life and be it's boss.
In Anger
When
I have lost my temper
I have lost my reason too.
I'm never proud of anything
Which angrily I do.
When I have talked in anger
And my cheeks are flaming red
I have always uttered something
That I wish I had not said.
In anger I have never done
A kindly, deed or wise,
But many things for which I know
I should apologize.
In looking back across my life
And all I've lost or made,
I can't recall a single time
When fury ever paid.
I Love You
I
love you not only for what you are,
but for what I am when I'm with you;
I love you not only for what you have made
of your self, but what you are making of me;
I love you for putting your hand into my
heaped up heart and passing over all the
foolish weak things you can't help dimly
seeing there, and drawing out in the light
all the beautiful belongings that no one
else had looked quite far enough to find;
I love you because you are helping me to
make of the lumber of my life not a tavern
but a temple, out of the work of my every
day life; not a reproach, but a song; I love
you because you have done more than
any creed could have done to make me
good and more than any fate could have
done to make me happy;
You have done it without touch, without
A word, without a sigh;
You have done it by being yourself.
Perhaps that is what being a friend
means after all!
I
Love You Dad
What
can you say to someone
Who has always been one of the most essential parts of
your world.
Someone who took you by the hand when you were little
and helped to show the way?
What do you say to someone who stood by to help you grow
Providing love, strength and support
So you could become the person you are today?
What can you say to let him know that he's the best there is
And that you hope you've inherited some of his
wisdom and strength?
What words would you say if you ever got the chance?
Maybe you just say, I love you Dad
And hope he understands.
I
Shall Not Pass This Way Again
The
bread that giveth strength I want to give;
The water pure that bids the thirsty live;
I want to help the fainting day by day,
Because I shall not pass again this way.
I want to give the oil of joy for tears;
The faith to conquer cruel doubts and fears;
Beauty for ashes may I give alway,
Because I shall not pass again this way.
I want to give good measure running o'er,
And into angry hearts I want to pour
The answer soft that turneth wrath away.
Because I shall not pass again this way.
I want to give to others hope and faith;
I want to do all that the Master saith;
I want to live aright from day to day,
Because I shall not pass again this way.
If I
Could Catch A Rainbow
If
I could catch a rainbow
I would do it just for you
And share with you it's beauty
On the days you're feeling blue
If I could build a mountain
You call your very own
A place to find serenity
A place to be alone
Of I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea
But all these things I'm finding
Are impossible for me
I cannot build a mountain
Or catch a rainbow fair
But let me be what I know best
A friend that's always there
Influence
'Twas
a sheep, not a lamb, that strayed away,
In the parable Jesus told---
A grown-up sheep that had gone astray
From the ninety and nine in the fold.
Out in the meadows, out in the cold,
'Twas a sheep the good shepherd sought,
And back in the flock, safe in the fold,
'Twas a sheep the good shepherd brought.
And why for the sheep should we earnestly long,
And as earnestly hope and pray?
Because there is danger, if they go wrong,
They will lead the young lambs astray.
For the lambs will follow the sheep, you know,
Wherever the sheep may stray:
If the sheep go wrong, it will not be long,
'Till the lambs are as wrong as they.
And so with the sheep we earnestly plead,
For the sake of the lambs today:
If the lambs are lost, what a terrible cost.
Insight
Often when It seems I found
Goodness here, there all around,
I saw on closer scrutiny,
The goodness came from inside.
Why did the whole world seem to smile?
Because I laughed with it awhile
Why was all the earth so bright with sun?
Because my light heart gave it one.
What made the future seem so bright,
The past seem dear, the future right?
What was it set the day apart?
The peace of God within my heart.
Since then, when life seems dark and grim,
My assets small, my prospects dim,
I push the dark thoughts back on the shelf
And seek for heaven in myself.
If
You're Ever Going To Love Me
If
you're ever going to love me, love me now, while I can know,
All the sweet and tender feelings which, from real affection flow.
Love me now, while I am living; do not wait 'til I am gone,
And then chisel it in marble--warm love words on ice-cold stone.
If you've dear , sweet thoughts about me, why not whisper them to me?
Don't you know 't would make me happy and as glad as glad can be?
If you wait 'til I am sleeping, ne'er to waken here again,
There'll be walls of earth between us and I couldn't hear you then.
If you knew someone was thirsting for a drop of water sweet,
Would you be so slow to bring it? Would you step with laggard feet?
There are tender hearts all around us who are thirsting for our love;
Why withhold from them what nature makes them crave all else above?
I won't need your kind caresses when the grass grows o'er my face;
I won't crave your love and kisses in my last low resting place.
So, then. if you love me any, if it's but a little bit,
Let me know it now while I am living; I can own and treasure it.
I'll
Remember You, Love, In My Prayers
When the
curtains of night are pinned back by the stars,
And the beautiful moon leaps the skies,
And the dew drops of heaven are kissing the rose,
It
is then that my memory flies
As if on the wings of some beautiful dove
In haste with the message it bears
To bring you a kiss of affection and say:
I'll remember you, love, in my prayers.
I have loved you too fondly to ever forget
The love you have spoken to me;
And the kiss of affection still warm on my lips
When you told me how true you would be.
I know not if fortune be fickle or friend,
Or if time on your memory wears;
I know that I love you wherever you roam,
And remember you, love in my prayers.
Angel in heaven are guarding the good,
As God has ordained them to do,
In answer to prayers I have offered to Him,
I know there is one watching you.
And may it's bright spirit be with you through life
To guide you up heaven's bright stairs,
And meet with the one who has loved you so true
And remember you, love, in her prayers.
In His
Footsteps
When
someone does a kindness
It always seems to me....
That's the way God up in heaven
Would like us all to be.
For when we bring some pleasure,
To another human heart,
We have followed in his footsteps,
We've had a little part...
In serving him who loves us,
For I am sure it's true,
That in serving those around us,
We serve and please him too.
I Shall Not
Mind
I
shall not mind
The whiteness of my hair,
Or that slow steps falter
On the stair,
Or that young friends hurry
As they pass,
Or what strange image
Greets me in the glass---
If I can feel,
As roots feel in the sod,
That I am growing old to bloom
Before the face of God.
Judge Not
Pray,
find no fault with the man that limps,
Or stumbles along the road;
Unless you have worn the shoes he wears,
Or struggled beneath his load.
There may be tacks in his shoes that hurt,
Though hidden away from view;
Or the burdens he bears, placed on your back,
Might cause you to stumble, too.
Don't sneer at the man who's down today,
Unless you have felt the blow,
That caused his fall, or felt the shame;
That only the fallen know.
You may be strong, but still the blows
That were his, if dealt to you,
In the selfsame way at the selfsame time,
Might cause you to falter too.
Don't be too harsh with the man who sins,
Or pelt him with words or stones,
Unless you be sure, yea doubly sure,
That you have no sins of your own.
For you know perhaps if the tempter's voice
Should whisper softly to you,
As it did to him when he went astray,
It would cause you to falter too.
Grandparents
Special Kind Of Love
There's a
special kind of love that grandchildren
have for grandparents.
It's filled with respect for the wisdom and
accomplishments...
with gratitude for the values they've given us...
with delight in the stories of our family that they
remember and share.
It's a special kind of love that's built on a lifetime
of caring and giving.
It's the kind of love that's felt for you, Grandma
and Grandpa...today and always.
I Asked
God...
I
asked God to take away my pain.
God said, No.
'It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.'
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, No.
'Her spirit was whole, her body was only temporary.'
I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, No.
'Patience is a byproduct of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is
earned.'
I asked God to give me happiness.
God said, No.
'I give you blessings. Happiness is up to you.'
I asked God to spare me pain.
God said, No.
'Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to
me.'
I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, No.
'You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.'
I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life.
God said, No.
'I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things.'
I asked God to help me love others, as much as he loves me.
God said...
'Ahhh, finally you have the idea.'
Heaven's
Very Special Child
A meeting
was held quite far from earth
"its time again for another birth"
Said the angel to the Lord above,
"This special child will need much love."
His progress may seem very slow,
Accomplishments he may not show
And he'll require extra care,
From the folks he meets, way down there.
He may not run or laugh or play
His thoughts may seem quite far away
In many ways he won't adapt
And he'll be known as handicapped.
So let's be careful where he's sent
We want his life to be content
Please, Lord, find the parents who
Will do a special job for you
They will not realise right away
The leading role they're asked to play,
But with this child sent from above
Comes stronger faith and richer love.
And soon they'll know the privilege given
In caring for this gift from Heaven
Their precious charge, so meek and mild
Is Heaven's very special child.
If We Only Understood
Could
we but draw back the curtain,
That surrounds each others lives,
See the naked heart and spirit;
Know what spur the action gives;
Often we would find it better,
Purer then we think we would.
We would love each other better,
If we only understood.
I Wait By The Gate
In a strange land I was sent, not knowing my fate;
In a pen I was put and I sat by the gate.
I watched and I wondered what do I do now?
Then I looked up and saw you, as you walked up and smiled.
We trained and we worked and I showed you my best;
You rewarded me and petted me and I did the rest.
Through trails and paths and roads we did go;
And I was to smell, for traps that would blow.
Many times I stopped you from ending your life;
From an enemy trap wire that was set to end life.
Never have I thought that we would ever part;
Because of the love that we had in our hearts.
Oh, I was proud to walk by your side;
With all of your friends and being your guide.
Then one day you put me back into my pen;
You smiled, you petted me, said "Goodbye my friend."
You looked back one more time,
and I saw the tears in your eye;
And I knew it was the last, your way of saying goodbye.
My life, it so changed when you went back home;
And I stayed behind to a fate still unknown.
It's been over 30 years since I've seen your face;
But I never forgot you, my friend and my mate.
So please don't worry, I'm waiting by Heaven's gate;
For my best friend, my brother, but mainly my mate.
If...
God can
hang a star on high,
Can paint the clouds that drift on by,
Can send the sun across the sky,
What could He do through?
If...
He can send
the storm through space,
And dot with trees the mountains face,
If He the sparrow's way can trace,
What could He do through you?
If...
God can do
such little things,
As count the hairs, or birds that sing,
Control the universe that swings,
What could He do through you?
I Am The New Year
Life, I am the New Year.
I am an unspoiled page in your book of time.
I am your next chance at the art of living.
I am your opportunity to practice
what you have learned about life
during the last twelve months.
All that you sought
and didn't find is hidden in me,
waiting for you to search it out
with more determination.
All the good that you tried for
and didn't achieve
is mine to grant
when you have fewer conflicting desires.
All that you dreamed but didn't dare to do,
all that you hoped but did not will,
all the faith that you claimed but did not have -
these slumber lightly,
waiting to be awakened
by the touch of a strong purpose.
I am your opportunity
to renew your allegiance to Him who said,
'behold, I make all things new.'
I am the New Year.
Horse Sense
A horse
can't pull while kicking,
This fact I merely mention.
And he can't kick while pulling,
Which is my chief contention.
Let's imitate the good old horse,
And lead a life that's fitting,
Just pull an honest load and then,
There'll be no time for kicking!

I Hope You Do
I hope the sun is shining just for
you
and the birds are singing their very best songs...
I hope your coffee is hot and tastes just right
and the cats are purring contentedly, and the mailman waves a
cheery hello and there are no bills in the mailbox...
I hope just everything goes your way ...
I hope everything is well with your world,
a place for everything and everything in it's place...
I hope you can enjoy all you do and you are
complimented on the way
you look and you can laugh
and talk and share to your heart's content
I hope you have all you wish for yourself and those dear to you,
and all your dreams come true...
At the end of the day
I wish you a perfect moon shining just for you,
a snug and cozy bed with the softest of pillows
and I hope you sleep like a lamb with a smile on your face...
I hope you have a perfect end to the perfect day
and I hope that every day is just as wonderful in it's own way
I hope your day is ... filled with love!
Happiness
Happy is he
who by love's sweet song,
Is cheered today as he goes along.
Happier is he who believes that tomorrow
Will ease all pain and take away all sorrow,
Happiest is he who on earthly sod
Has faith in himself, his friends, and God!
"Happy
Mother's Day"
Dear Mom:
"Happy Mother's Day"
means more
Than have a happy day.
Within those words lie lots of things
We never get to say.
It means I love you first of all,
Then thanks for all you do.
It means you mean a lot to me,
And that I honor you.
But most of all, I guess it means
That I am thinking of
Your happiness on this, your day,
With pleasure and with love.
Happy Mother's day!
Have Faith
In God
Not so in
haste, my heart!
Have faith in God and wait;
Although he lingers long,
He never comes too late!
He Only
Takes The Best
God saw
that she was getting tired
and a cure was not to be,
so he put his arms around her
and whispered, "Come with me."
With tearful eyes we watched her suffer,
and saw her fade away:
Although we loved her dearly,
We would not make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands to rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best!
I Am The
Way
Take God's
hand, he's calling you.
He offers help in all you do.
Let not life's cares your heart dismay,
God's planned for you a better way.
Then turn from fear, let faith abide,
Your gracious Lord is by your side.
Kneel down in peace and gently pray,
For Jesus said....I am the Way.
I Like To
Think Of You
I like to
hold a thought of you close to me...
in a special place where I can pull it out
to bring a touch of cheer to my day.
I like to think about all the things you've
done to show that you care, and the many
ways you have of turning a nice time into
a wonderful occasion.
I like to think of you...
because you're one of those people
who really helps to make my world
a richer and a happier place.
I Just Want
You to Know
I just want
you to know...
How important you are to me,
Knowing that you care and understand me,
...that you trust and believe in me.
I just want you to know...
How wonderful it is having you as a lover,
Knowing that you are always there for me,
...that you will always be my friend.
I just want you to know...
That I know how wonderful you are,
...that I do care,
... and that I do love you, [NAME].
I just want you to know.
I Met The
Master
I had
walked life's way with an easy tread,
Had followed where comfort and pleasure led.
Until one day in a quiet place
I met the Master face to face.
With a station and rank and wealth for my goal,
Much thought for my body and none for my soul,
I had entered to win in life's mad race.
I met the Master face to face.
I met him and knew him and blushed to see
That his eyes full of sorrow were fixed on me;
And I faltered and fell at his feet that day,
While castles melted and vanished away.
Melted and vanished and in their place
Naught else did I see in the Master's face.
And I cried aloud," Oh make me meet
To follow the steps of Thy wounded feet."
My thought is now for the souls of men.
I had lost my life to find it again,
E'er since one day in a quiet place
I met the Master face to face.
I Know Not
What
I
know not what the future hath,
Of mercy or surprise,
Assured alone that life and death
His mercy underlies...
I
Shall Not Pass
I
shall pass this way but once.
Therefore any good that I can do,
Or any kindness that I can show,
Let me do it now.
For I shall not pass this way again.
I Love You
I
love you not only for what you are,
but for what I am when I'm with you;
I love you not only for what you have made
of your self, but what you are making of me;
I love you for putting your hand into my
heaped up heart and passing over all the
foolish weak things you can't help dimly
seeing there, and drawing out in the light
all the beautiful belongings that no one
else had looked quite far enough to find;
I love you because you are helping me to
make of the lumber of my life not a tavern
but a temple, out of the work of my every
day life; not a reproach, but a song; I love
you because you have done more than
any creed could have done to make me
good and more than any fate could have
done to make me happy;
You have done it without touch, without
A word, without a sigh;
You have done it by being yourself.
Perhaps that is what being a friend
means after all!
If I Am
Right
If
I am right, Thy grace impart
Still in the right I stay;
If I am wrong, oh, teach my heart
To find a better way!
If
If
you think you are beaten---you are;
If you think you dare not---you don't:
If you like to win, but you think you can't;
It's almost certain you won't.
If you think you'll lose---you've lost;
For out of the world we find---
Success begins with a fellow's will,
It's all in the state of mind.
If you think you are out-classed---you are;
You've got to think high to rise;
You've got to be sure of yourself,
Before you can win a prize.
Life's battles don't always go--
To the strongest or fastest man:
But soon or late the man who wins,
Is the man who thinks he can.
If
Tears Could Build A Stairway
If
tears could build a stairway
and memories were a lane
We would walk right up to Heaven
and bring you back again
No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why
Our hearts still ache in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose
No one will ever know
But know we know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store
Since you'll never be forgotten
We pledge to you today
A hallowed place within our hearts
Is where you'll stay
If
It Helps
If it helps to know
Someone cares...
I do.
If it helps to know
Someone is willing to share...
I will.
If it helps to know,
Someone will always be there...
I am.
In His Care
It's
hard to see tomorrow
When someone you love is gone
It's harder still to realize
That your life will still go on
The Lord won't give you burdens
He knows you cannot bear
He will not leave you comfortless
You'll always find him there
We're all our Father's children
On earth and up above
Your loved one's walking close to God
Surrounded by His love.
It Isn't
The Things That Go In One Ear
I t
isn't the things that go in one ear
And out the other that hurt,
As much as the things that go in one ear
And get all mixed up before
Thy slip out the mouth.
If
You But Knew
If
you but knew,
How all my days seemed filled with dreams of you,
How sometimes in the silent night,
Your eyes thrill through me with their tender light,
How oft' I hear your voice when others speak,
How 'mid other forms I seek--
Oh, love more real than though such
dreams were true,
If you but knew,
Could you but guess?
How you alone make all my happiness,
How I am more than willing for your sake,
To stand alone, give all or nothing take,
Nor chafe to think you bound while I am free,
Quite free, till death, to love you silently,
Could you but learn?
How when you doubt my truth I sadly yearn,
To tell you all, to stand for one brief space,
Unfettered, soul to soul, as face to face,
To crown you king, my king, 'til life shall end,
My lover and likewise my truest friend,
Would you love me dearest, as fondly in return.
Could you but learn?
It's Up To
You
One
song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake a dream.
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.
One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal.
One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room.
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.
One step must start each journey,
One word word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true.
One life can make a difference
I'm Glad
There's You
I'm
glad there's you to smile at me
And brighten up the day,
To share my thoughts and understand
The things I do and say.
I'm glad there's you to laugh with me
At ordinary things,
To show me what is\a special,
In everything life brings.
I'm glad there's you to be with,
And I think it's time you knew,
Just how happy you have made me
And how glad I am there's you!
Insensitive
Oh
Lord, forgive us for being so sensitive
About the things that do not matter---
And so insensitive to the things that do!
Amen
Journey
Of Love
Everyday
that passes
I feel that I love you more
I feel thankful for the times we spend together
I know and feel that you are my perfect companion
And friend
And I'd choose you again...
And again...
And again!
Naturally we have difficult moments
But I would not give up even these
Because it's apart of the journey of love
That we've been on
I want to travel by your side...
Forever
Because I Love You
Judged
By The Company One Keeps
One
night in late October,
When I was far from sober,
Returning with my load with
manly pride,
My feet began to stutter,
So I lay down in the gutter,
And a pig came near and lay
down by my side;
A lady
passing by was heard to say:
"You can tell a man that boozes,
By the company he chooses."
And the pig got up and slowly walked away!
Just A
Minute
I
have only just a minute
Only sixty seconds in it,
Forced upon me, can't refuse it,
Didn't seek it, didn't choose it.
But it's up to me to use it,
I must suffer if I lose it,
Give account if I abuse it,
Just a tiny little minute---
But eternity is in it.
It's No
What You'd Do
It's
not what you'd do with a million,
If riches should 'er be your lot,
But what are you doing at present,
With the dollar and half you've got?
Hearts
EnTWINed
Twenty
fingers, twenty toes,
two sweet babies with cheeks of rose.
Born on the same day, two gifts from above,
lives enTWINed, two babies to love.
Heartprints
Whatever
our hands touch—
We leave fingerprints!
On walls, on furniture,
On doorknobs, dishes, books,
As we touch we leave our identity.
Oh please where ever I go today,
Help me leave heartprints!
Heartprints of compassion
Of understanding and love.
Heartprints of kindness
and genuine concern.
May my heart touch a lonely neighbor
Or a runaway daughter,
Or an anxious mother,
Or, perhaps a dear friend!
I shall go out today
To leave heartprints,
And if someone should say
"I felt your touch,"
May that one sense be....YOUR LOVE
Touching through ME.
This is all the wonderful people
I have met!
I offer you my hand in friendship
so that when you reach out in times of need,
you can be certain that I’ll always be there.
when it returns to you,
you'll know who'll be your friends for life!!!
Just A Dog
You
say I'm "Just a Dog" then why would it be,
if you spell my name backwards god is what you see
I have many jobs, one is protecting your life
or making sure your family's safe
when that prowler is out at night
I would chase down any man who hurt someone,
I would protect you with my life until my job is done
I search for drugs in many different places,
I can pick them out of anything
even though they come in many different phases
I can sniff out a bomb that might be in your child's school,
I would risk being blown up to make sure
your child comes home to you
If you're hurt in the woods or just lost and scared
I will search as long as it takes
to make sure your life is spared
I am loyal to my master for they are first in my eyes,
I will always stand beside them
for we are partners till I die
Of all these jobs that I do,
my most important is protecting you,
protecting your life with the risk of losing mine
even though I have never met you
So after all these things that you read,
tell me when you look into my eyes is
"Just a Dog" all you see?
I Wish For
You
Comfort
on difficult days,
Smiles when sadness intrudes,
Rainbows to follow the clouds,
Laughter to kiss your lips,
Sunsets to warm your heart,
Gentle hugs when spirits sag,
Friendships to brighten your being,
Beauty for your eyes to see,
Confidence for when you doubt,
Faith so that you can believe,
Courage to know yourself,
Patience to accept the truth,
And love to complete your life.
And if you can't have all that...
Then I wish you enough chocolate
to make it through the tough times....
I Wish I Could Bring You To The Lord
Before you
die, for I have faith that you
And I could be together if you knew
The truth that shines like laughter in His Word
I wish I had the hope that I could be
The instrument through which you'd understand
The love that waits upon your silent hand
To rush into your anguish like a sea.
I wish that you could feel the joy that I
Am filled with now I'm open to His love.
The miracles that daily in me move
So deep there is not need to question why.
I wish, I wish, I wish I could do more
To reach the raptures of your heart.
But I can only do my humble part
While you and He meet naked at your door.
I Asked God...#2
I asked for strength and
God gave me difficulties to make me strong.
I asked for wisdom and
God gave me problems to solve.
I asked for prosperity and
God gave me brawn and brain to work.
I asked for courage and
God gave me dangers to overcome.
I asked for patience.
God placed me in situations where I was forced to wait.
I asked for love and
God gave me troubled people to help.
I asked for favors and
God gave me opportunities.
I received nothing I wanted
I received everything I needed.
My Prayer Has Been Answered.
It Takes Courage
It takes
courage to be gentle.
It takes strength to conquer,
It takes courage to surrender.
It takes strength to be certain,
It takes courage to have doubt.
It takes strength to fit in,
It takes courage to stand out.
It takes strength to feel a friend's pain,
It takes courage to feel your own pain.
It takes strength to endure abuse,
It takes courage to stop it.
It takes strength to stand alone,
It takes courage to lean on another.
It takes strength to love,
It takes courage to be loved.
It takes strength to survive,
It takes courage to live.
I
Gave My All
I
am a deputy in a canine crew.
I have been trained to see it through.
When danger is near my ears perk up,
They taught me that when I was a pup.
I am often there to protect your rights,
My presence sometimes hinders fights,
I never attack with thought to kill,
When subduing one, my job I fulfill.
I never worry a single thought,
As to how I will fare at a certain spot.
The love I have for a handler's care,
Is all I need, each day to fare.
And if some day my luck turns bad,
I will relish the joys I have ever had.
To be with men who stand for good,
In a special kind of "brotherhood."
The story's end by now you know,
Of how I tried for a better show,
When I was called and I gave my all.
In Memory Of A Loved One
Please
don't cry--
from the time we are born,
We're meant to die.
We all know--it's God's plan
and we never know where He will lay His hand.
But now He has-so let us mourn
but not forever--for that is wrong.
Keep (him or her) in your heart each day.
accept the fact that (he or she) is gone away.
Be glad (he or she) went in a peaceful way.
Remember (he or she) would want you to laugh and be gay
and think of (him or her) in a warm way--
just once in a while on a cold winter day...
-A Friend-
If He
Came To Your House
Would You meet Him at
the door with arms outstretched in welcome?
Or would you have to change your clothes before you let Him in?
Or hide some magazines, and put the Bible where they had been?
Would you hide your worldly music and put some hymn books out?
Could you let Jesus walk right in, or would you rush about?
And I wonder--if the Savior spent a day or two with you,
Would you go right on doing the things you always do?
Would you go right on saying the things you always say?
Would life for you continue as it does from day to day?
Would you take Jesus with you everywhere you'd planned to go?
Or would you maby change your plans for just a day or so?
Would you be glad o have Him meet your very close friends?
Or would you hope they stay away until His visit ends?
Would you be glad to have Him stay forever on and on?
Or would you sigh with great relief when He at last is gone?
It might be interesting to know the things that you would do.
If Jesus came in person to spend some time with you...
